At present, the problems in the domestic packaging industry have been summarized in the following three points:
1. The disorderly competition in the packaging industry has hindered its progress, and business innovation has led it into a trap. As far as the corrugated packaging industry is concerned, China's unique new cooperation method of "centralized board and decentralized box making" has been highly praised by mainstream media and industry experts in the past few years. It seems that only this method can save China's cardboard box industry. However, in recent years, the entire industry has been deeply damaged. This method has lowered the entry threshold for cardboard box post-processing, resulting in disordered industry competition, weak industrial innovation, and some large-scale ones Powerful packaging companies have exited or struggled to survive due to reduced profits and fierce competition, thereby hindering industry restructuring and upgrading.
2. Packaging machinery has always imitated and never surpassed. Packaging machinery, especially in the corrugated packaging industry, from single machines to single-sided machines, and then to large-scale production lines, is nothing more than imitation and copying. Although the appearance is similar, the internal quality is always the weakness of domestic equipment. The cost-effectiveness of domestic equipment meets the requirements of most customers, but high-end models have always given way to Europe and America, resulting in lower originality. We all have such experiences. Many printing machines from Germany's Roland or Heidelberg were still used in cardboard factories in the 1950s and 1960s. It is worth respecting that the main components are still intact and the failure rate is very low. Compared to the experience of continuous maintenance during the warranty period of domestic equipment, it is much better.
3. The untimely adjustment of national industrial policies and standards, as well as the low level of hierarchy, have become constraints on the development of the industry. The industry standard GB/T6544-86 "Corrugated Paper Board" for corrugated packaging has remained unchanged since its promulgation in 1986. Against the backdrop of rapid technological progress and continuous innovation in the industry in recent years, the old national standard has seriously failed to meet the requirements of industry development and is seriously lagging behind the existing general technical level in society. The demand from the public to improve industry standards is increasing, and national standards have become an obstacle to industry development, Due to this situation, the country hastily launched a new set of national standards, namely GB/T6544-2008, in 2008. Although the new standards partially summarized existing technologies, the national standards as industry benchmarks are still somewhat heartbreaking. Take a look at how the European Union guides technological progress. For example, in the automotive industry, the EU closely tracks the latest technologies in the industry from Europe I to Europe II, and all the way to Europe IV. Before the latest technologies in the industry are fully popularized, it has established a strict set of emission standards, ordering enterprises and the public to innovate, which has given rise to the EU's technological leadership and formed a unique phenomenon of the EU exporting standards to the world.
The above reasons have led to a disorderly and low-level competition stage in the entire domestic packaging industry. If there is no fundamental improvement, innovation, and practicality, China's packaging industry will have a long way to go.
